This integration includes a few important updates:

  • Add WorkRamp to Leads, Opportunities, or Account records. Previously, you could only add to leads and opportunities.
  • Select any fields you want to map to on Leads, Opportunities, or Account records. Previously, you could only match to Stage on Opportunities and Lead Status on Leads

The Integration has 2 core parts:

Context Aware Lead, Opportunity, and Accounts Integration

The context aware integration can be added to Opportunity, Lead, or Account records. It will give the ability to source WorkRamp Portal documentation based on the ANY custom field you select. For example, if you want to show a critical Qualification playbook to a rep, you can have this show up on all opportunities in the stage "Qualification"

Custom Training Tab

The custom training tab allows users to access WorkRamp directly from Salesforce. This allows reps to train and access knowledge in the solution their in on a daily basis, Salesforce. They also have the ability to quickly search for any previous training content that could be critical to their sales success.

To get started with the integration, follow the steps below.

Install the Package

When logged in to Salesforce, access the package install link found here:

Choose the "Install for all users" option. If WorkRamp is already installed, it will prompt you for an upgrade option

If you receive a warning like the one below, simply press okay and ignore. WorkRamp will still be compatible with either Classic or Lightning.

Integration Part 1: Apply WorkRamp to Opportunity, Lead, or Account Layouts

 (Approximate setup time: 15 mins)

Note: Follow these same steps for Opportunity, Lead, or Account layouts. For the purposes of the documentation, we will show how to set up WorkRamp for an opportunity layout , but you can optionally repeat the steps for Lead and Account records.

Click setup to start adding to your opportunity layout:

Either search or navigate to the opportunity page layout

Select the page layout you want to add WorkRamp to:

Within the opportunity layout, follow the next 3 steps with the layout drag and drop editor and review the details below:

Step 1: Choose Visualforce pages

Step 2: Drag section to layout and fill in the corresponding settings

Step 3: Set the settings for the WorkRamp module. We recommend at least 275 pixels in height.

Follow similar steps for the Leads layout under Build > Customize > Leads > Page Layouts or Build > Customize > Accounts > Page Layouts.

After editing the layouts of both opportunities and leads, you have to assign the updated view to the different profiles in Salesforce using the Page Layout Assignment functionality:

After clicking "Edit assignment", select one or more profiles and apply the updated layout:

Repeat the same step if you also editing your Leads or Accounts layout view.

Verify WorkRamp appears in Opportunities, Leads or Accounts

After completing the previous steps, you can verify WorkRamp appears in both Opportunities, Leads, or Accounts:

Select fields you want to surface relevant content for

Once the layout is set, you want to select the fields WorkRamp should look for when displaying relevant content.

To access the field set up page, go to your "All Tabs" page:

From there, click on "WorkRamp Config" to configure your fields you want to match against:

Select one or multiple fields across opportunities, leads, or account records. In this example, WorkRamp will match tags across the Stage and Opportunity Type tags. If "Stage = Qualification" and Opportunity Type = "Upsell", WorkRamp will look for any content tagged with the tags "Qualification" or "Upsell". These are not case sensitive and can include special characters like spaces or dashes. 

Add tags to surface contextually relevant content

Now that you have WorkRamp installed on your opportunity, lead, or account records, the last step is to populate these objects with contextually relevant content.

This part of the integration reads from WorkRamp's Portals application and looks for any Pages that have Tags matching the values you have selected in the fields in the last step. For example, if you have a playbook in WorkRamp tagged for "Qualification" after selecting the Stage field, it will show up on all opportunities with the Stage listed as "Qualification".

To add tags for a page, navigate to the Portals application, go to a page, and add one or multiple tags:

You will then see these pages appear contextually in Salesforce:

Integration Part 2: Add WorkRamp as a Tab 

(Approximate setup time - 5 mins)

Adding WorkRamp as a tab inside your SFDC account only takes a few steps. As an end user, go to the "+" button in your account and click customize my tabs:

Next, move the WorkRamp tab over and adjust the order of your tabs:

Once you have saved these settings, you will see that WorkRamp will show up as a custom tab and you can have 1-click access to your WorkRamp account within SFDC:

Uninstalling WorkRamp

If you need to uninstall WorkRamp, complete the following steps:

Search for "Installed" in your Setup menu:

Select uninstall and follow the steps listed:

If you receive an error during the uninstall, you may need to manually remove WorkRamp from the visual force pages you installed it on (ie leads, opportunities, or accounts)

Installing in a Sandbox Environment

Since this is a private package, there are a few additional steps needed when installing in a sandbox environment.

First, go to the sandbox login page in your Salesforce > Setup settings:

When logging in, append the following redirect URL to your login URL: ?startURL=%2Fpackaging%2FinstallPackage.apexp%3Fp0%3D04t36000000kOqO

So in this example, the final URL will be:

Once you login, you will be redirected to the package install page shown below. This will allow you to install WorkRamp into your sandbox

Will the integration work with Salesforce Lightning?

Yes, this integration will work with Salesforce Lightning. Here is an example view from Lightning:

Will the integration work with Professional Edition of Salesforce?

For the best experience with our Salesforce plugin, the recommended version of Salesforce is Enterprise and above. However, this integration will still work with professional edition with minor nuances. In Professional edition, you can not add Visualforce pages into Lead of Opportunity records as custom objects. Therefore, you will have to use the pre-packaged WorkRamp view as a starting point (see opportunity and lead layout steps), then add your custom layouts to that view. Please contact the WorkRamp support team if you need help with installation on a Professional plan. 

Will you be integrating with other Salesforce products in the future?

Yes, we plan on integrating with other parts of Salesforce in the future, such as Service Cloud. Please get in touch with your account manager if you would like more details on our extended roadmap.
