Practice the conversations that matter, before they happen.

Whether your teams are preparing to close deals, resolve complex customer issues, or navigate sensitive HR conversations, AI Simulations helps them perform when it matters most.

Build confidence and drive stronger performance through AI-powered roleplay in a safe, judgement-free environment.

AI Simulations is built directly into WorkRamp. Creating simulations, assigning them to learners, managing permissions, and tracking progress can all be done from within WorkRamp - no separate logins or additional tools required.

What is AI Simulations?

AI Simulations is a simulation builder and AI-powered practice environment that lets your teams rehearse high-stakes conversations before they happen in real life.

Rather than learning from static content or running live role-plays, learners have live, voice-based or text-based conversations with AI characters. These characters have personalities, backstories, and emotional responses. They push back, ask tough questions, and respond naturally - just like a real conversation.

Every simulation is built and owned by your organisation. You define the scenario, the character, the scoring criteria, and the difficulty. The AI does the heavy lifting to generate a complete draft in around 50 seconds - which you can then customise as much or as little as you like.

What can you use it for?

AI Simulations is flexible enough to cover almost any conversation-based scenario. Common use cases include:

  • Sales enablement - Practise objection handling, discovery calls, pricing conversations, and pitches.

  • Customer service - Build confidence handling escalations, complaints, and difficult customer interactions.

  • Manager development - Prepare managers for performance reviews, difficult feedback conversations, and coaching sessions.

  • HR and people operations - Practise sensitive conversations such as disciplinary discussions or employee relations cases.

  • Onboarding - Give new starters a safe space to practise conversations before their first real interactions with customers or colleagues.

How does it work?

There are three stages to AI Simulations: Build, Practice, and Improve.

Build

Administrators and L&D content creators author simulations in minutes using an AI-guided wizard. You describe the scenario, upload any relevant company documents or policies as context, and define the success criteria. The AI generates a complete simulation - including the character, environment, learner briefing, and scoring rubric - which you can then review and refine.

Practice

Learners access their assigned simulations from WorkRamp. Before starting, they see a briefing that explains the scenario and what they will be assessed on. During the simulation, they have a live conversation with the AI character via voice or text. The character responds in real time, pushes back where appropriate, and adapts based on how the learner handles the conversation.

Improve

At the end of each session, learners receive a detailed session summary. This includes their overall score, how they performed against each success criterion, their top strengths, and specific areas to work on. Learners can download their summary, and Administrators can view all session results in Reporting.

Who uses AI Simulations?

There are two main roles in AI Simulations:

  • Administrator - Creates and manages simulations, assigns them to learners, and views reporting. This is typically an L&D manager, HR professional, or sales enablement lead.

  • Learner - Accesses and completes assigned simulations from WorkRamp. Receives a session summary after each conversation.

User roles in AI Simulations are managed through WorkRamp. Changes made in WorkRamp are reflected in AI Simulations automatically. See the Managing Users and Access section for more detail.
