Success Criteria is where you define how the AI assesses your learner's performance: what "good" looks like, how it's scored, and the rules for passing.
Describing your success criteria
Describe what you want to assess in the prompt box, or paste an existing rubric directly in. If you already have a scorecard, select Upload Criteria to bring it in as a starting point instead of typing from scratch. Once you're happy, select Create Goals.
Goals
Each goal represents one thing the AI is assessing the learner on. Select a goal to expand it and edit the detail; use the three-dot menu to reorder or remove it.
Goal Title and Goal Description
The title and a short description of what this goal is assessing. These stay internal - learners see a version of this on the Session Goals tab of their briefing.
Select + Add Goal to add another, or use Create for me on the prompt box above to have the AI generate goals for you based on what you set up in Set the Scene.
Pass Threshold
Under Pass Threshold, set how many goals in total the learner must pass to complete the role-play, for example, 3 out of 4.
This works alongside the Required toggle on each individual goal. Marking a goal as Required means the learner must pass that specific goal no matter what, even if they clear the overall threshold by passing enough of the others, missing a Required goal still means an overall fail.
đĄ Tip
Use Required sparingly, for the one or two things where failing them means the conversation genuinely shouldn't be counted as a pass, even if everything else went well.
Scoring Method
Each goal has its own scoring method, choose whichever fits how precisely you want to measure that particular goal:
Pass/Fail - Binary: did they or didn't they. Pass and fail criteria are written from the learner's point of view.
1/5/10 - Three anchors for below, meeting, and exceeding the standard. Good for most soft skills.
Rubric scale - A four-level scale (Exceeds / Meets / Approaching / Below). Band names are editable, so this can match whatever rubric format you already use.
Graded (0â100%) - Five percentage bands. This is what powers the live progress bar during the session, best for goals where nuance matters.
If you choose Pass/Fail:
Fill in the Pass criteria and Fail criteria fields, describing what a pass and a fail actually look like. Select Create for me to have the AI draft these based on the goal description.
If you choose Rubric scale (or 1/5/10):
Fill in what each level looks like Below, Approaching, Meets, Exceeds or select Create for me to generate all four at once. Tick the checkbox next to whichever level should count as passing (this is usually Meets).
Session Rules
Time Extension
Gives the learner an extra 2 minutes to wrap up when time runs out. Toggle Allow one +2 min extension on if you want to give this grace period; when used, it's flagged in reports.
Attempt Limit
Cap how many times a learner can attempt this role-play. Toggle on and set the number of attempts max â the learner gets a warning on their final attempt. Leave this off for unlimited attempts.
Goal Visibility and Feedback
Show Goals - Lets learners see their goals both at the start of the role-play and during it.
Live Feedback - Shows live feedback on goals during the session.
Toggle either off if you'd rather learners focus on the conversation without tracking their progress in real time.
Error Tolerance
Controls how forgiving the session is, how much early mistakes affect the final score. Set the Tolerance slider between Strict, Balanced, and Lenient.

Score suppression (Advanced)
Hold results back from the learner until a manager or admin has reviewed them:
Hold all results from learner
Only hold failing results from learner
