Customer Learning Cloud: Integrating Intercom into your Academies

The integration can be viewed from two angles:

β€’ Customer Outreach: We allow you to populate your Intercom chat bubble into the Academy, so you can message directly with your customers or partners.
​

β€’ Knowledge Center: We also allow you to make your education portal within Intercom accessible through the same chat bubble, so your customers or partners can search your help articles to access important information outside your Academy.

For any customizations to the Intercom chat bubble, you will need to make them within Intercom and those changes will be reflected in Intercom chat bubble that appears in WorkRamp.

Activating the Intercom Integration

In your Academies page, go to Integrations and find the Intercom section. Toggle the Intercom integration on and enter your "App ID" into the open text field. The integration will automatically populate and your Intercom chat bubble will surface in your Academy.

Note: You will have to do this for each Academy you want Intercom integration in.

If you would like the integration to identify your logged-in Academy Users to Intercom, you will need to insert the Identity Verification Secret key as well. You can find your Identity Verification key in your Intercom Security Settings.

FAQ

  • Will the chat widget be the color I set in Intercom?

    • No, the color will be the Accent Color set for your Academy.
