Contact Labels allow you to associate a user’s role within the Community to help your users identify trusted sources as they engage with your Community. You can use Contact Labels to highlight team members, admins, super users, or any other notable contributors in your organization so when other users view their content in the Community, they know their association to your company.
How to Setup Contact Labels:
First, you will want to create Contact Labels in the Contacts>>Labels tab. Then, Contact Labels can be assigned to either individual Contacts or Segments either from the Contact Label creation modal or directly assigned to a Contact or Segment. You can create as many Contact Labels as you need and users can have more than one label. If a user has multiple labels, they will display next to the user’s name in alphabetical order. If there is a group of users you want to assign a label to, we recommend creating a Segment first to make it easier to manage.
Create the Contact Label:
Go to the Contacts Tab in the Customer Learning Cloud and click on the “Labels” tab and select the “+ New Label” button.
The “Name” will be what displays next to your user’s names in the Community. From this modal, you can also assign this label to any Contacts or Segments.
You can also assign existing Labels to any Contacts or Segments either by editing the Label, the Segment, or the Contact record.
Adding Contacts or Segments to Existing Labels:
Go to the Labels tab and click the overflow menu and select “Edit Label.” Then add any additional Segments or Contacts to the Label.
Adding Labels to Individual Contacts:
Go to the Contacts tab and select a Contact you would like to add a label and click Edit on their Contact record. Here you can add labels to the individual contact record and Save.
Note: You can only edit Label assignments that are assigned to the Contact individually. If they have a Label as a result of their Segment inclusion, you will need to manage that Label at the Segment level.
Adding Labels to Segments:
Go to the Segments tab and click the overflow menu on the right-hand side and click “Edit Segment.” Add any labels to this segment and Save.
Once Contact Labels are assigned, you will now see them displayed next to a user’s name in the Community.
