Academy Learners can now have the ability to consume Guide content in different formats, if enabled by Academy Admins and Content Editors.

If enabled, Learners will have the following format options:

  • Guide - This is the default setup where you interact with the guide as-is.

  • Podcast - Generate a podcast of the Guide content, where you can listen to a host and a guest discuss the contents of the Guide in detail via an audio overlay.

  • Read aloud - Generate a text-to-voice narration of the Guide content, where you can listen to a full narration of the Guide (excludes questions).

Enabling Academy Guide Personalization

For these personalization options to be available in Academy Guides, 2 conditions must be met:

  • Personalization options must be enabled at the individual Guide-level

    • Guide Editor > General & AI Settings, Guide Personalization Options

  • The relevant settings must be enabled in the Academy

    • Academy > Settings > AI Settings

Personalization Options

Podcast and Read aloud

These options are AI-generated, and allow you to listen to the contents of a Guide if you prefer that format.

Please note that in order to complete the Guide, you will still need to interact with the tasks, interactive elements, questions, etc. through clicking and typing, even if you've listened to the entire podcast or narration.

When selecting Podcast or Read aloud, the AI-powered audio generation will begin. You will note a toast message and a label next to the header indicating the generation.

Once a podcast or read aloud is generated, there will be a toast message letting you know that the generation is completed.

You'll note that the action next to Podcast and Read aloud will change from "Generate" to "Play" once they are generated. You can then click on either option to open the audio player.

The audio player opens as an overlay on top of the Guide. Click play, adjust volume, or even download the audio via this audio player. To go back to the Guide, simply click the [x] or click anywhere outside of the audio player.
