What is an "Admin"?
An Admin role covers responsibilities such as managing the entire subscription itself, granting/removing accesses to different type of users (Editors, Managers, etc.), creating/deleting all the different assets (Guides, Portals, etc.) within WorkRamp, and so on. Admins also have full access to the Training and Portal portions of the platform.
Admin Permissions
Admins have the visibility into all assets and portals in the platform. Once an admin, you have access to Editor and Manager's permissions combined. Moreover, you have the ability to make changes to the enterprise itself like branding and set up custom integration. You will have full access to all kinds of reporting for Training and Portal applications. Admins are also in charge in managing other users like updating names, changing up the roles, deactivate users, etc.
Managing Admins
Admins can manage other admins when you navigate to the Users section under Settings. There is not a master admin per se. Therefore, each admin has the same level of access from one to another.
If you have a user that only needs access to some administrative tasks (like Users, Groups, Reporting, etc.), consider adding them to Permission groups to only provide access to designated areas of the Admin Console. If you only want them to access Content, see Content Management Permissions for limited access to Content folders.
As an admin, you can easily grant/remove the Admin status from any user by clicking the three dot overflow menu for that user and clicking "Make Admin". There is also a toggle on the Edit User Information drawer.
How to Add a New Admin
Only an Admin can invite another user as an Admin. When you navigate to Users under Settings and click the "Invite Users" button. A modal will show up, and there is an option that would indicate whether or not you want to make this user an Admin. By turning on the toggle, you are making the user an Admin when you finish with the "Invite" button.ย
WorkRamp Admin Profiles
When a WorkRamp account is set up, system/admin profiles are automatically created. These profiles are essential for the initial configuration and ongoing management of the workspace. They are added by WorkRamp to support administrative tasks and ensure the platform operates as intended.
Licensing Implications
One common concern is whether these WorkRamp admin profiles count toward the total number of licenses in your workspace. The answer is no, these system/admin profiles do not consume any of your allocated licenses. This ensures that your license count is reserved exclusively for your team members and other active users.
Managing WorkRamp Admin Profiles
These profiles help the support team to troubleshoot or diagnose any issues you may be seeing, so leaving this account active is recommended since it doesn't take up any licenses.
