Creating and Managing Dashboards in Employee Analytics Studio

While Reports and Workbooks are the foundation of Analytics Studio, Dashboards are your way to create single views with multiple reports and visualizations for easy data analysis.

Just like individual workbooks, dashboards can be saved to your My documents folder, or shared with your Organization’s Hub or any custom folder within the Hub.

Creating Dashboards

The first step to building a dashboard is to create or access a specific Workbook.

Remember: workbooks can have 1 or more reports/tabs, and a Dashboard will by default include all reports within the given workbook

You can either select a Workbook from your documents or any shared workbooks within your Hub, or alternatively, you can create a brand new workbook by clicking the “+ New Analysis” button at the top-right. Refer to this article for creating workbooks.

Once you have built the report (or reports) or visualizations in the workbook that you would like to transform into a dashboard, simply click the Dashboard icon at the top-right corner of the screen:

From the Dashboard editor, you have a variety of customization options, such as:

  • Adding Dashboard-level filters

  • Adding text-based Markup tiles for contextual information

  • Adjusting the size/position of each report/visualization

  • Editing the charts

Once you’re happy with the presentation and display of the dashboard, simply click the ‘Publish’ button at the top right.

You may be prompted to save the Dashboard to a specific location if you haven’t done so yet.

Published Dashboards are not only for quick access to visualization and data - you can also:

  • Download the entire dashboard or individual reports/visualizations

    • File > Download or

    • Menu icon at top-right of an individual report > Download

  • Scheduling deliveries or notifications of the entire dashboard or individual reports/visualizations

    • File > Deliveries & Alerts or

    • Menu icon at top-right of an individual report > Schedule Delivery

Editing Dashboards

Any dashboard that you create and publish can be edited at any time.

To edit Dashboards:

  • Select the appropriate dashboard from your Hub or folder

  • Click “Edit” button at the top-right corner

  • Make any necessary edits or modifications to the charts or reports (you can also access the Workbook for this dashboard by clicking the “Workbook” button the top-right)

  • Publish your changes

Any changes will live in Draft status until you have Published the changes.
