Key Takeaway

In your academy environment, you’ll deploy three powerful levers that guide, recognize and engage your learners: Paths, Certifications, Collections and Events. Each plays a distinct role—but together they weave a cohesive journey that drives adoption, mastery and advocacy.

Recommended Resources

WorkRamp is split into two separate sides: Employee Learning Cloud (ELC) and the Customer Learning Cloud (CLC). Your academy exists in the CLC. But the content you create will be done on the ELC. Below are the three building blocks you will create on the ELC side and then assemble on the CLC side.

Employee Learning Cloud - Building Blocks:

  • Guide - A guide is the basic building block for training in WorkRamp. In other systems, this may also be known as a "Course" and it contains sections and tasks that help train an employee.

  • Resource - A Resource is a space for you to put off-the-shelf documents and relevant resources that your team might need after a training.

  • SCORM - Shareable Content Object Reference Model is content file type needed to import content from other content creation applications.

Customer Learning Cloud - Organization & Assembly:

  • Certifications - A Certification is a formal recognition awarded to learners after they complete a defined training program. It validates their knowledge or skills in a specific area and can be shared as proof of achievement. Certifications add value by standardizing learning outcomes, boosting credibility for both learners and organizations, and ensuring ongoing competency through optional expiration and renewal settings.

  • Collections - A Collection is a curated set of learning modules grouped together under one topic or theme. It helps organize related content to create a cohesive learning experience for users. Collections can be customized with titles, descriptions, and visuals to enhance engagement and make navigation easier, allowing learners to easily find and complete relevant training materials.

  • Events - An Event is a scheduled learning session that can be either live or on-demand, allowing learners to engage with training in real time or at their own pace. Live events can be integrated with tools like Zoom, include registration and calendar invites, and allow attendance tracking. On-demand events give learners flexible access to content, with engagement monitored through views and clicks. Overall, events provide a dynamic way to deliver interactive, trackable learning experiences within an academy.

  • Paths - A Path in WorkRamp is a structured learning journey that combines multiple modules or courses into a guided sequence. It’s designed to lead learners through a logical progression of content, such as onboarding, role-based training, or skill development. Paths can include visual elements like banners and badges, and administrators can set rules for completion order and visibility to ensure learners move through the material in an intentional way.
